Rutu campfire site

Viljandi County, Sakala Recreation Area
The road leading to the object of visit is in bad condition and difficult for vehicles to pass.
This campfire site with tent camping area is perfect for hikers for whom the vicinity of water is not a must. The site is at a comfortable distance from the main road, and a safe place to stay overnight. Even if Rutu hill, does not offer a panoramic view at the moment, the hiker’s feet will most certainly feel the height of this spot as he ascends the forest paths lined by huge trees.

Driving directionsDrive along Valga–Uulu road. 0.7 km from the border of Valga and Viljandi counties the sign “Rutu maastikukaitseala” directs to the right. Turn right and drive 0.2 km to the parking area and campfire site.
