Ruunaraipe campfire site

Viljandi County, Soomaa National Park
At Ruunaraipe there are two campfire places with barbecue grills, perfect to picnic and camp. Those interested in hiking can walk on high sand dunes in the pine forest.

LocationMetsküla village, Põhja-Sakala municipality, Viljandi County. Object no 34 on the national park map.
Driving directionsWhen coming from the direction of Tallinn–Pärnu–Tori, drive along Kõpu–Jõesuu road up to the junction at 24 km and turn towards Kildu there. Drive 8.6 km up to the sign directing to Ruunaraipe at Sandra junction. Then turn right and drive 12.1 km to the sign to Ruunaraipe and turn right. Drive 2.9 km to the Ruunaraipe campfire site.
When coming from Viljandi–Tohvri, drive though Tohvri village and 0.6 km from the final bus stop to the bridge over the Raudna River. Drive across the bridge and follow the signs 2.3 km to the campfire site.
Attention! In winter and during floods the road may not be easily passable by car.
