Tellingumäe campfire site
Valga County, Haanja–Karula Recreation Area
The campfire site is pleasantly light and spacious. It is possible to use the sleeping loft of the woodshed. Near the campfire site there is the 29-metre Tellingumäe observation tower, where a scenic view opens on the flooded meadow of the Mustajõgi River, on southern Estonia and northern Latvia.

Here passes the Taheva cycling trail (21 km), the Karula cycling trail (50 km), the Mõniste cycling trail (55 km), the Koiva cultural heritage cycling trail (18 km), the Koiva cultural heritage walking trail (2 km) and the RMK Peraküla-Aegviidu-Ähijärve hiking route. |

Driving directions | On Võru–Valga road (Road no. 67), 53 km from Võru, about 1.5 km after Hargla, turn left (follow the sign “Taheva Sanatoorium”), drive 1.4 km and turn left again. After 1 km drive off the asphalt road onto narrow gravel road (follow the sign “Tellingumäe vaatetorn”) and you’ll arrive at Tellingumäe campfire site after about 1 km. |
