Räpina–Värska Recreation Area
RMK Räpina–Värska Recreation Area entails the Palumaa region with the most beautiful, healthy and aromatic pine forests in Estonia. Forests here are rich in wild berries and mushrooms. Lake Peipus and its parts Lake Lämmijärv and Lake Pihkva are fishermen’s paradise and offer a wide range of opportunities for holiday journeys and sailing. The rivers in the area are suitable for canoeing or kayaking—the Võhandu River, the longest in Estonia with its 162 km, and the Piusa River with the steepest fall (2.24 m/km) are waiting for you.Little forest lakes offer a peaceful and relaxing holiday, and spectacular sandstone outcroppings rise high above the Võhandu and Piusa rivers. To the south, downstream the Võhandu River, lies the Seto region.
