European polecat
- Features
Fur is dark to blackish brown. The colour of the coat is determined by the combination of the darker guard hairs and the yellowish underfur that shows through. The tip of the muzzle and the area between the eye and ear is white.
- Habitat
Smaller wood stands, also preferably swampy areas and riverbanks. Can often be seen at the edge of fields and near human settlement. Uses other animals' dens or digs its own; can also live in gaps between rocks. Den is lined with grass and moss.

Trunk length 30-45 cm, tail length 10-16 cm, body weight 0.5-1.5 kg.
